Britain to quarantine travellers for 14 days to prevent second wave of coronavirus
The British airlines will reportedly introduce a 14-day quarantine period for most people arriving from abroad in a bid to avoid a second peak of coronavirus.

British airlines will reportedly introduce a 14-day quarantine period for most people arriving from abro in a bid to avoid a second peak of dely coronavirus. According to an international media outlet, Airlines UK, which represents British Airways, Easyjet and or British airlines, said move is a ‘credible exit plan’ and will be reviewed weekly.
Airport operators also said that new plan could also have a ‘devastating’ impact on aviation industry and broer ecomy. However, plan is still a draft plan as UK Prime Minister is yet to anunce final lockdown measures on May 10. Although, several international media outlets reported PM Boris Johnson will be anuncing that passengers arriving at airports and ports, including Britons returning from abro, will have to self-isolate for a fortnight.

It is expected that new measures are likely to come into force in early June. Travellers might have to provide dress at which y will self-isolate on arrival as well. According to a media outlet, government said that se measures will help protect British public and reduce transmission of virus as while nation is moving into next phase of response.

‘Clear exit strategy’
Meanwhile, airport operators reportedly said that a quarantine would compound dam done by pandemic to aviation industry as it would put people off travelling when lockdown restrictions are lifted. While speaking to an international media outlet, Karen Dee, who is Chief Executive of Airport Operators Association, said that quarantine would t only have a devastating impact on UK aviation industry but also in wider ecomy.

She also believes that government should apply a selective basis following science. Karen reportedly ded that authorities should have a clear ‘exit strategy’ and ecomic impact on key sectors should be mitigated. Furrmore, Airlines UK also believes that government should also support measures to ensure that aviation sector gets through quarantine period.
Meanwhile, UK currently has more than 211,000 confirmed coronavirus cases and dely virus has claimed nearly 31,241 lives in country. Despite increasing number of COVID-19 cases, UK PM Boris Johnson expressed optimism and said that rate at which virus is spreing among people was below one which is outcome of general public’s herence to social distancing measures. UK authorities also believe that virus is almost contained and government, in future, could both relax and tighten measures.
