UK: Dogs visit seal sanctuary to cheer sea lions amid COVID-19 lockdown
Amid the unprecedented coronavirus lockdown, a group of dogs have been visiting Cornish Seal Sanctuary in bid to keep the sea lions company.

Amid unprecedented coronavirus lockdown, a group of dogs have been visiting a seal sanctuary in bid to keep m company. While taking to Facebook, Cornish Seal Sanctuary said that y usually welcome over 10,000 people a year to ir centre. However, due to lockdown, y have been forced to close and refore, animals y take care have become isolated and lonely.
In a bid to keep seals engd, staff n decided to bring ir dogs to work. While sharing a few ims from visit, a spokesperson from sanctuary said that animals definitely h fun and perked up. staff said that animals were ‘intrigued’ to see dogs again and seemed to love experience.

Sanctuary uses music to calm seals
Furrmore, sanctuary also ded that dog visit did t just help lonely seals, staff at centre also h fun and have been using music to keep mselves entertained. centre said that team also have been playing music over speaker system to keep residents calm and happy. While referring to research confuted at sanctuary back in 2017, centre said that playing classical music helps decrease anxious behaviour in sea lions.

With lockdown, sanctuary also said that y were surging to make ends meet. centre also informed that y have w set up a fundraising p as well to help m pay £23,000 it costs every month to keep charity running. While calling it a ‘seal appeal’, sanctuary wrote, “We are w entering our third month without guests, and need your support more than ever”.
