Johnson challenged on COVID-19 testing, care homes

The deputy leader of the UK opposition Angela Rayner challenged the Prime Minister on his government's failure to provide a reliable, nationwide COVID-19 testing facility and urged him to grant funding to the social care sector ahead of winter pressures.

Boris Johnson expressed concern over rising infections in care homes and said government would be anuncing a furr winter care home action plan.

Rayner, however, said promises of regular testing at care homes h been broken, ding Prime Minister's priorities h been misplaced.

"This winter, we are staring down barrel of a second wave with plan for looming crisis," Rayner said.

She continued: "People can't say goodbye to ir loved ones, grandparents can't see ir grandchildren and frontline staff can't get tests that y need - and what was top priority for Covid war cabinet this weekend? Restoring grouse shooting. Is this really your top priority?"
