London: Dairy allergy cause of teenager Owen Carey's death in 2017

Owen Carey died of Dairy Allergy after having Birthday Meal in London. Owen Carey's examination revealed that the teenager died due to food-induced anaphylaxis.

Investigation revealed food-induced anaphylaxis as a cause of death

2017 episode started misery and shock among Owen's family, who looked for answers about how his demise could have occurred. On Friday, y got an answer at Southwark Coroner's Court. Coroner Briony Ballard in a statement re aloud in  court said, "Owen died of severe, food-induced anaphylaxis, despite making staff aware of his allergies."  Ballard furr said that, " menu was reassuring in that it me reference to any marine or potential allergenic ingredient in food selected," and n ded that "Owen was t informed that re were allergens in order."

U.K. should have strict bylaws 

Owen’s sister Emma Carey, while speaking to media said that Owen was a shining light and his death should t have happened. Carey family said Owen's passing and examination disclosure should incite new U.K. laws that make allergen marking in restaurants more conspicuous and detailed, as opposed to verbal exchanges in isy restaurants with busy staff. Emma Carey also said that this leaves far too much room for error on an issue that can cost lives, and it should be a serious concern.

Byron CEO Simon Wilkinson said in an anuncement after examination that his restaurants "have robust procedures" to man customers suffering from allergies. He also ackwledged and did t defend circumstances which led to Owen’s untimely death. On or-hand  Wilkinson said, it is incredibly s that our most evolved ways of communication were t able to meet customer’s requirements.

Clodagh Brley who is attorney for family said that during investigation that information related to allergens was printed at bottom of menu, in a very small font, in black print on a royal blue background, as reported by international media. Aimee Leitner-Hopps, Byron's representative responded by saying " expectation is that a customer with an allergy should inform us," even though Coroner said Owen did, in fact, inform staff about his allergy. After this case, Byron’s menu w makes reference to buttermilk marine for chicken and incorporates data about or allergens. It ditionally incorporates a disclaimer.
