Raab: UK lockdown to remain for some time

UK Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab said Sunday that Britain will not just go back to normal after the nation's lockdown eases.

UK Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab said Sunday that Britain will t just go back to rmal after nation's lockdown eases.

"It won't be just going back, it will be a 'new rmal'", he told Sky News programme Ridge On Sunday.

Raab is currently standing in for prime minister Boris Johnson, who's been recovering after being hospitalised with virus.

Britain has recorded more than 20,000 hospital deaths from COVID-19.

Thousands more are thought to have died in nursing homes.

Despite toll, which saw ar 813 virus-related deaths anunced Saturday, some in Britain are growing impatient with restrictions, which have brought much of ecomy and daily life to a halt.

Ro traffic has begun to creep up after plummeting when lockdown first came into force, and some businesses have begun to reopen after implementing social-distancing measures.

Scientists say UK has reached peak of pandemic but is t yet out of danger.
