Captain Tom Moore received a video mess of musical birthday wishes from London's Royal Opera House on Thursday, as war veteran celebrated his 100th birthday.

British army veteran who started walking laps in his garden as part of a humble fundraiser for National Health Service has warmed hearts of a nation that donated millions of pounds to back his appeal.

Captain Moore has w raised 30 million pounds (37 million US dollars) for NHS Charities Toger campaign.

His original target was 1,000 pounds (1,250 US dollars).

Moore began his fundraising campaign on 6 April, aiming to achieve 100 laps of his garden by walking 10 laps a day.

He reached his goal on 16 April, but continued effort throughout April.
