Slammed by party's Indians, UK's Corbyn dithers on Kashmir Resolution

Britain's Opposition Labour Party leer Jeremy Corbyn, on Thursday has stated that some of langus in a controversial Kashmir resolution passed by his party have scope of being "misinterpreted as hostile to India", according to PTI. Yet Corbyn stood by emergency motion against abrogation of Article 370. UK Opposition Leer was responding to a letter by Labour Friends of India (LFIN) group, who are among a number of party members to raise concerns over controversial resolution passed at Labour Party annual conference last month. resolution called for international intervention in Kashmir in wake of Indian government's revocation of Article 370.

Corbyn replies to LFIN letter on Kashmir resolution
Corbyn stated that re is a recognition that some of langu used within it could be misinterpreted as hostile to India and Indian diaspora, in his reply to LFIN letter. He ded, " Labour understands concerns Indian community in Britain has about situation in Kashmir and takes se concerns very seriously, who has been under pressure from Indian diaspora groups in Britain since Labour Party passed resolution." He also stressed that party remains committed to ensuring that rights of all citizens of Kashmir are "respected and upheld". He ded, "This remains our priority and I agree that we should t allow politics of sub-continent to divide communities in Britain."
Corbyn meets with IOC members, sparks debate in India
Corbyn h sparked a war of words in India between BJP and Congress on Thursday after he claimed that human rights situation in Kashmir was discussed during a meeting with Indian Overseas Congress (IOC) UK representatives earlier this week. BJP lashed out at Congress over its "shameful shenanigans" and demanded an explanation following which latter hit out at ruling party in a tweet accusing it of spreing lies inste of dressing questions on ecomic slowdown in country. Meanwhile, Congress' senior spokesperson Anand Sharma, who is Chairman of party's Foreign Affairs department, later told reporters it "disowned" any claim me at meeting in its entirety. India has categorically told international community that its move on Kashmir was an internal matter. India maintains Kashmir is a bilateral issue and third party has any role in it.

LFIN slams Labour resolution on Kashmir
LFIN h felt brunt of resolution's aftermath as Indian mission in London cancelled participation in a proposed annual reception and even Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) issued a harsh rebuke over uninformed and unfounded motion. LFIN h raised concerns about procedure for selection of motion, quality of evidence that backed it up, lack of a balanced debate on subject, and its ultimate selection and option.
