UK citizens vaccinated with India-made AstraZeneca vaccine get permission to enter Malta

Malta government said that it will accept all travellers who have been vaccinated with an AstraZeneca jab in the UK, regardless of its manufacturing location.

United Kingdom government has claimed that it has managed to get authorities of Malta to permit travellers from UK who have been vaccinated with doses of Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine me in India. This comes after a British couple was reportedly stopped from boarding a plane to Malta as y h been jabbed with vaccines me in India. UK Transport Secretary Grant Shapps announced change on Twitter, saying that all vaccines h gone through “rigorous safety and quality checks”.

Malta amends rules regarding vaccine

Transport Secretary stated that Maltese authorities have amended ir travel vice, so anyone who has an Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine in UK regardless of manufacture location can travel. On July 14, Shapps told BBC Breakfast that UK's medicine agency, Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency, have been very clear that it doesn’t matter wher AstraZeneca is me. He ded that y are all same products and provide some level of protection against COVID-19. His comment came after a UK couple were barred from boarding a plane to Malta because y h been jabbed with an AstraZeneca vaccine developed by Serum Institute in India. couple revealed that airline told m that vaccine was not recognised by Maltese authorities.

couple named Steve and Glenda Hardy, from Hull, said that y were "gutted" after y were stopped from checking in at Manchester Airport on Friday. Glenda Hardy told BBC News that y were trying fourth time in a year to visit ir son who lives on  Mediterranean Island. y told news outlet that previously it was due to lockdown and this time due to vaccination rule.
