UK MP slams UNICEF UK grants as 'political stunt'

British MP Jacob Rees-Mogg on Thursday accused humanitarian organisation UNICEF of performing "a political stunt of the lowest order."

British MP Jacob Rees-Mogg on Thursday accused humanitarian organisation UNICEF of performing "a political stunt of lowest order."  For first time in 70 year history of UN ncy, it has launched a domestic emergency response in UK to help feed children impacted by coronavirus pandemic.

On Wednesday UNICEF pledged a grant of £25,000 (approx. 34,000 US dollars) to charity School Food Matters to help provide thousands of breakfasts over two week Christmas holidays to vulnerable children and families living in south London area of Southwark.
