UK PM Boris Johnson demands 'transparent' probe into Navalny's suspected poisoning

UK PM Boris Johnson has joined hands with the US and EU to call for a “transparent investigation” into the alleged poisoning of Russian leader Alexei Navalny.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has joined hands with United States and European Union to call for a “transparent investigation” into alleged poisoning of Russian opposition leer Alexei Navalny. Taking to Twitter, Johnson said that Navalny’s poisoning has shocked world and emphasised need for a full and transparent probe into incident. 

Earlier, European Union h strongly condemned apparent attempt on Navalny’s life after preliminary test results from Charité hospital in Berlin indicated poisoning. Charité hospital said in a statement on August 24 that re is clinical evidence suggesting an “intoxication through a substance belonging to group of cholinesterase inhibitors.”

EU stressed it is imperative that Russian authorities initiate an independent and transparent investigation on poisoning of anti-corruption campaigner without delay. 27-member bloc said that Russian people, as well as international community, are demanding facts behind Navalny’s poisoning.

US State Secretary Mike Pompeo echoed demands me by EU, saying United States supports call for a comprehensive investigation and stands rey to assist in that effort. He ded that Navalny’s family and Russian people deserve to see a full and transparent investigation carried out, and for those involved to be held accountable.

Russia denies poisoning claims
