UK Queen's Christmas speech recording delayed due to Brexit uncertainty: Report

While a decision on a Brexit deal is still pending, the Buckingham Palace has reportedly pushed back the Queen’s recording of her Christmas speech to next week.

While a decision on a Brexit deal is still pending, Buckingham Palace, on or hand, has reportedly pushed back Queen’s recording of her Christmas speech to next week. According to Guardian, British monarch usually films annual dress in early to mid-December. However, due to uncertainty about UK’s future relationship with European Union, Palace has delayed recording. 

Buckingham Place has reportedly refused to deny reports of delay. While speaking to media outlet, a spokesperson for Palace, however, said that it would t comment on speculation about postponement of Queen’s Christmas mess recording. official furr ded that filming date was set a number of weeks ago and it could take place on Wednesday or Thursday.

Queen has alrey dressed nation three times this year to comment on coronavirus pandemic and 75th anniversary of VE Day. Last year, Queen used her annual Christmas mess to ackwledge a “quite bumpy” path during a turbulent year for both monarch and nation. This year, it is expected that monarch’s speech on Christmas Day will focus on impact of coronavirus and its effects on families who have been separated this year due to social distancing restrictions.

Coming back to Brexit tre talks, both EU and UK have agreed to continue negotiations and step back from a -deal outcome on Sunday. While speaking in Brussels, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said that leers believe that it is responsible at this point to go extra mile. She also ded that both sides have discussed major unresolved topics and negotiating teams are w working day and night to see wher an agreement can be reached.

UK and EU h set a deline of Sunday to decide wher negotiations should be abandoned, however, w y have decided to step back from brink. So far, re is sign of a decisive breakthrough on flashpoint of fair competition rules and fishing rights, leaving open prospect of a -deal outcome. Neir side has been willing to walk away from negotiating table and y have been risking blame for huge disruption to borders and to ecomies from agreed tring terms.
