UK refuses to resume Brexit negotiations after EU makes itself available for talks

Britain has refused to restart the Brexit deal negotiations even after Conservative leader Michael Gove praised the European Union for “constructive move”.

Britain has refused to restart Brexit deal negotiations even after Conservative leer Michael Gove praised European Union for “constructive move”. EU’s chief negotiator Michel Barnier h earlier confirmed bloc’s availability to intensify talks on all subjects, and based on legal texts. Gove initially welcomed offer while speaking in House of Commons but Downing Street contricted his statement.

“Even while I have been at dispatch box it has been reported that re has been a constructive move on part of EU and I welcome that … obviously we need to work on basis of proposed intensification y propose,” Gove told lawmakers.

A Downing Street spokesperson reportedly said that discussion between Barnier and his UK counterpart, David Frost, was constructive. However, spokesperson went on to d that government continues to believe re is basis to resume talks unless re is a fundamental change of approach from EU, according to a report by Guardian.

Delock over fishing waters access

27-member bloc has been demanding access to UK fishing waters but UK has called it incompatible with Britain’s future status as an independent coastal state. France has been amant over UK fishing waters access and has frequently stated its demand.  Speaking to reporters after a summit in Brazil,  French President Emmanuel Macron insisted that country “will t sacrifice” its fishermen but rey to continue to talk in good faith.

European Council called upon Member States, Union institutions and all stakeholders to step up ir work on preparedness and reiness at all levels and for all outcomes, including that of agreement. UK Business Secretary Alok Sharma h also said that businesses must act w to ensure y are rey for UK’s new start as an independent tring nation once more.
