UK to evacuate citizens from quarantined Japan cruise amid coronavirus spread
After the US evacuated its citizens from the quarantines cruise ship off the Japanese coast, the UK has decided to follow the suit and repatriate its nationals.

After United States evacuated its citizens from quarantined cruise ship off Japanese coast, United Kingdom has decided to follow suit and repatriate British nationals. British government anunced on February 18 that it will arrange a flight to evacuate its citizens from quarantined Diamond Princess cruise ship on which at least 450 people have tested positive for vel coronavirus, COVID-19.
Cana, Australia, Hong Kong and South Korea have alrey anunced that y will evacuate all of ir citizens from ship. total of infected persons onboard quarantined cruise ship has increased to 454 with 99 new cases, as per latest report. Diamond Princess cruise is docked in Yokohama, a port city close to Tokyo, and will be under quarantine till February 19.

Earlier on February 17, 40 US citizens, who were infected with dely virus, have been evacuated using two chartered flights from Tokyo's Haneda Airport. Around 380 Americans were present on ship of which 340 were transported from Yokohama port to airport on 14 buses, informed Japan’s Defense Minister Taro Ko.

Emperor's birthday celebration cancelled
In view of coronavirus threat, Japan has also decided to cancel a public garing to celebrate birthday of its new Emperor Naruhito. imperial household ncy, in a statement, said that visit by general public to palace for Emperor’s birthday has been cancelled in light of “various situations”.
decision to cancel garing comes after government warned its citizens to avoid crowds and “n-essential garings”. Japan’s Health Minister Katsubu Kato has urged public, especially elderly and those with pre-existing conditions, to avoid n-urgent, n-essential garings.

According to latest report, 1,886 new cases of coronavirus infections and 98 more deaths have been confirmed, taking total death toll because of dely virus to 1,868. While most of cases are from Hubei province of China and city of Wuhan, epicentre of outbreak, or countries, including Japan and Philippines, have also w reported deaths related to COVID-19.
