Brexit: UK's chief negotiator accuses EU of treating Britain as 'unworthy' partner
Britain’s chief negotiator David Frost has accused the European Union of treating the UK as an “unworthy” partner by offering a low-quality proposal for trade.

As EU-UK finished third roundtable for post-Brexit deal, Britain’s chief negotiator David Frost has accused European Union of treating UK as an “unworthy” partner by offering a low-quality proposal for tre that would push London to “bend” to rms set by Brussels. According to reports, Frost has sent an ‘extraordinary’ letter to EU’s chief of negotiation, Michel Barnier saying that Brussel’s proposed tre deal that EU state aid rules be part of British law is “egregious” and “simply t a provision any democratic country could sign”.
Britain is in an 11-month transition period with 27-nation-bloc after exiting union on January 31. UK and EU h begun tre negotiations in March after being halted due to coronavirus outbreak and it would set frame for future relationship between both sides after December 31. However, t much progress has been me with roundtable talks and in recent letter, Frost also accused Barnier of demanding unprecedented authority over British laws and its institutions through “vel and unbalances proposals”.

letter was sent shortly after UK government published draft of tre and security that underlined tensions at core of UK-EU negotiations. In letter, UK’s chief negotiator also says that he “regrets” making “very little progress” towards standard Comprehensive Free tre Agreement that British government has been rooting for. Even though Frost ted that he shares “good understanding” with Barnier, he ded that it is “hard” to contemplate EU’s “ideological” approach.

Downing Street has alrey said that it would leave talks in June unless re is a “bro outline” of a deal. According to an official release by British government setting out mandate for its future relationship with EU and its negotiations, London would “move away” from discussions of a tre accord after working in a “speedy and determined fashion”. UK PM's government is hoping for a 'free-tre' agreement with 27-nation-bloc to be “rapidly finalised by September”.
