Queen Elizabeth II during her address on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of Victory in Europe (VE) Day, praised Britain's response to the COVID-19 pandemic

Queen Elizabeth II during her dress on occasion of 75th anniversary of Victory in Europe (VE) Day, praised Britain's response to COVID-19 pandemic. During pre-recorded brocast dress, she said that United Kingdom's streets are t empty, but "filled with love and care." Queen's speech marked  second time 94-year-old monarch has dressed country since outbreak of COVID-19.

During her dress, monarch said, "Today it may seem hard that we cant mark this special anniversary as we would wish. Inste, we remember from our homes and from our doorsteps." She furr ded, "When I look at our country today and see what we are willing to do to protect and support one ar, I say with pride that we are still a nation those brave soldiers, sailors and airmen would recognize and mire."

 Victory in Europe (VE) Day was marked on May 8, 1945, when Britain and its allies accepted unconditional surrender of Nazi Germany, bringing war in Europe to an end. This year's VE Day is marked as 75th anniversary of victory of Europe.

Boris Johnson pays 2-mins silence

United Kingdom Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Friday observed two-minutes silence for all those people who sacrificed mselves for cause of freedom in Second World War. Taking to Twitter, he stated that ir gratitude will be eternal.

COVID-19 in UK

As per latest reports, re are over 211,364 cases of coronavirus in United Kingdom and around 31,241 deaths have been reported to date. Meanwhile, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson on May 6 told Parliament that government will likely begin easing Coronavirus lockdown restrictions from May 11. Speaking in House of Commons for first time after contracting COVID-19 in March, Johnson promised to anunce details of plan on weekend saying government will want to “get going” some of measures on Monday.
