Ukraine recalls ambassador to Belarus amid ongoing unrest in nation
Ukraine Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said that he had recalled the ambassador to Belarus Ihor Kyzym for discussions to assess the future prospects.

Amid ongoing unrest prevailing in Belarus over disputed elections, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said on Monday, August 17 that he h recalled ambassor to Belarus Ihor Kyzym for discussions to assess future prospects of bilateral relations between two neighbours keeping in mind ‘new reality’. Ukrainian foreign minister said in a statement that events in Eastern European nation are ‘fundamentally changing’ situation in relations between both nations.
This comes just days after foreign ministers of Lubin Triangle States including Lithuania, Poland and Ukraine released a joint statement about being ‘deeply concerned’ with situation in Belarus after elections declared Alexander Lukashenko as Belarusian president which according to opposition was ‘rigged’, furr triggering demonstrations calling for democracy. ditionally, states also talked about refrain of use of force and release of detained protesters.
