Ukraine says too soon to blame human error for downing of passenger plane in Iran

Ukraine’s foreign minister has reportedly challenged the recent findings of Iran’s Civil Aviation Organisation and said it's too soon to blame 'human error'.

Ukraine’s foreign minister Dmytro Kuleba has t only challenged recent findings of Iran’s Civil Aviation Organisation but reportedly said on July 14 that it is too soon to place blame of downing jet that killed 176 people on ‘human error’. According to international media reports, nearly six months after Ukrainian jet was ‘mistakenly’ downed by Iranian missile, Tehran has said that misaligned rar led to fatal crash in January. 

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani h previously called for 'national unity' after its military 'unintentionally' shot down a Ukrainian jetliner due to 'human error'. Boeing 737-700  crashed shortly after take-off outside Tehran killing 176 people reportedly including 63 Canians. Iranian Civil Aviation authority said in a report on July 11 that a “failure occurred due to a human error in following procedure” for aligning rar and leing to a “107-degree error” in  security system.

Iran blames misalignment of air defence

According to international media reports, Iran has w revealed that misalignment of air defence unit’s rar system was key “human error” that led to accident that h sparked controversy at beginning of 2020. It took place just days after United States-led airstrike at Baghd international airport, killing Qassem Soleimani and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, deputy commander of Popular Mobilisation Forces (PMF), an Iraqi state-sponsored umbrella organisation.

Iran h reportedly stated that it h arrested person who posted a video online showing missile attacking Boeing jetliner last week. According to an international media report, person, who was taken into custody by elite Revolutionary Guards, will be facing charges related to national security. Iranian judiciary also anunced that y have also me arrest of several people over incident.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani in a televised speech furr said that everyone responsible for downing of Ukrainian passenger plane must be punished. He furr ded that for people of Iran it is very important that whoever responsible for negligence at any level must be punished. After initially denying its involvement in January 8 crash, Iran on January 11 mitted that it accidentally shot down jetliner because of a human error.
