In a joint statement, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said “a furr effort” should be undertaken by ir respective negotiating teams to assess wher “significant differences” can be resolved.
Months of negotiations have produced agreement on a swath of issues, but serious differences remain over level playing field - standards UK must meet to export into bloc - and how future disputes are resolved.

That’s key for EU, which fears Britain will slash social and environmental standards and pump state money into UK industries, becoming a low-regulation ecomic rival on bloc’s doorstep.
