Former First Lady Melania Trump has publicly demanded answers regarding the assassination attempt on her husband, former President Donald Trump , which occurred months ago. In a 30-second video posted on X (formerly Twitter), Melania called for accountability from law enforcement officials.

“The attempt to end my husband’s life was a horrible, distressing experience,” Melania said in the video.  “The silence surrounding the event has been heavy, and I am deeply troubled by the lack of accountability.” 

She questioned, “Why didn’t law enforcement officials arrest the shooter before the speech? There is definitely more to this story, and we need to uncover the truth.”

The timing of her video is significant, coming just before Donald Trump ’s debate with Vice President Kamala Harris. 

In her statement shortly after the attack, Melania had expressed gratitude towards the Secret Service and law enforcement for their bravery. “When I watched that violent bullet strike my husband, Donald, I realized my life, and Barron’s life, were on the brink of devastating change,” she said. “I am grateful to the brave secret service agents and law enforcement officials who risked their own lives to protect my husband.”

In the clip, Melania also promoted her upcoming memoir, titled *Melania*. 

The assassination attempt, which took place at a crowded rally, involved 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks. Crooks managed to breach security by positioning himself on a rooftop and opening fire on the former president. This lapse in security has prompted ongoing investigations by federal and local agencies as they work to understand how Crooks evaded extensive security measures.
