US approves former soldier's extradition to Japan over Carlos Ghosn's escape
US ex-Green Beret was held in Massachusetts in May and was wanted by Japan for allegedly aiding the auto titan’s flee on a private jet in black case to Beirut.

On October 29, US State Department gave formal approval for extrition of a former special forces soldier and his son to Japan for ir alleged assistance in Nissan’s fugitive ex-boss Carlos Ghosn’s smuggled escape to Beirut. ex-Green Beret held in Massachusetts in May was wanted by Japan for allegedly aiding auto titan’s flee on a private jet in a large black case used to transport audio equipment. Japan h issued several warrants for arrest and h asked US to turn in soldier. However, according to several sources from Washington’s brocasters, US State Department ruled to extrite special forces soldier despite his appeals t to be handed.
According to a court document accessed by US ABC, Deputy Secretary of State, Stephen Biegun “carefully and thoroughly” considered case and agreed to Japan’s request to surrender Taylors. Beigun said that extrition complies with applicable international obligations as well as domestic statutes and regulations. However, a federal judge in Massachusetts Indira Talwani halted former Green Beret Michael Taylor’s and his son Peter’s extrition to review ir emergency petition by court.

US marshals arrested soldier

Earlier this year, US marshals arrested special forces soldier and his son from Boston, Massachusetts, area and argued that y shouldn’t be released on bond. According to sources of ABC, duo me a court appearance in Worcester, Massachusetts on October 28. Meanwhile international law enforcement ncy, INTERPOL issued a wanted tice against Ghosh after his escape to Beirut, but Leban has extrition treaty with Japan.
