Kamala Harris Cancels Election Night Speech After Donald Trump's Victory

Washington: Democrat nominee and Vice President Kamala Harris will not deliver her planned post-verdict speech at Howard University as early trends show Donald Trump in the lead. 

Harris' campaign informed CBS News of the decision to cancel the speech at Howard University, her alma mater. 

Vice President & Democrat candidate Kamala Harris ' campaign co-chair Cedric Richmond said "We still have votes to count. We still have states that have not been called yet. We will continue overnight, to fight to make sure that every vote is counted, that every voice has spoken. So, you won't hear from the vice president tonight. But you will hear from her tomorrow, she will be back here tomorrow, not only to address her supporters but also the nation..."

The race between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump remains extremely tight in seven key swing states: Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.
