Making "big" anuncement on Sunday evening, United States President Donald Trump confirmed that ISIS chief Abu Bakr al-Baghdi has been killed. dressing a press conference, Trump said that US forces carried out an operation in rth-west Syrian region of Idlib to kill ISIS chief Baghdi. He said that world's most dangerous and number 1 terrorist is has been killed. Detailing about operation, Baghdi h been under US intelligence surveillance for 'a couple of weeks' and died at end of tunnel as US forces attack dogs chased him. According to US president, Baghdi immolated himself with 3 children after which his cave was bombed. Trump said that United States lost soldier in operation and claimed that many ISIS men and Baghdi's aides were killed in operation.

While speculation remains high, some US media reports and international reports say that it may be news of killing of ISIS chief Abu Bakr Al Baghdi. - Al Baghdi has reportedly led ISIS for five years. It was under his reign that ISIS spre rapidly and captured major parts of Syria after a civil war broke in country in aftermath of Arab Spring in 2010. In 2014, Al-Baghdi anunced to recapture caliphate from Al -Nuri mosque in Mosul. video was widely circulated, in which Baghdi was seen in a black robe. He urged Muslims around world to swear allegiance to caliphate and obey him as its leer.
- In April this year, ar video was released in which he was seen in public first time after declaring caliphate. In propaganda video, Al Baghdi said was seen sitting cross-legged alongside Kalashnikov. He n spoke for 18 minutes in video and said that ir battle is a long one. He h also praised Easter bombing terror attack in Sri Lanka that killed 250 people.
- Baghdi was reportedly born in Iraqi city of Samarra in 1971. He joined Al Qaeda in Iraq (AQI) and rose to high ranks after faction broke away to form ISIS. He n declared himself Caliph of his Caliphate.
- Though ISIS surrendered its last stronghold in Syrian city of Baghouz in March, Al Baghdi's whereabouts remained unkwn. Intelligent reports speculated Al-Baghdi to be in this area, which is eastern Syria along border with Iraq. Some reports also suggested that he was in Idlib in rrn Syria.
