The U.S Navy has acknowledged the presence of ‘unidentified’ objects in previously released purported UFO videos that were made public by Blink-182 singer Tom DeLonge’s UFO research organization. The Navy spokesperson, Joseph Gradisher, said that “the Navy considers the phenomena contained/depicted in those 3 videos as unidentified.”
Information regarding the videos was requested
John Greenwald, the author of a civilian archive of declassified government documents, had requested information in August from the Navy regarding the videos. The videos were released by Navy Pilots and had gone viral in 2017 and 2018. Talking about the development to an American news publication, Greenwald said that he expected that when the US military would finally address his videos, they would eventually have labelled them as drones or balloons. He added his surprise, however, at the Navy going on record to describe the videos' contents as 'phenomena' and 'unidentified'.
US Navy changed its policy
Earlier this year, the US Navy changed its policy to make it easier for its personnel to report sightings of anomalous aerial vehicles due to the number of reports of ‘unauthorized and/or unidentified aircraft entering various military-controlled training ranges and designated airspace’. Gradisher told the media “The Navy and USAF [United States Air Force] take these reports very seriously and investigate each and every report.” He also said that the safety of civilians and military personnel and the public are a top priority and due to the rise in reports of UAP (Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon) incidents, the Navy is taking the matter seriously.
Who is Tom Delonge?
Tom Delonge is an American musician, singer and songwriter. He was also the co-founder of the alternative rock band Blink-182. In 2015, Tom Delonge founded ‘To the Stars Academy of Arts and Sciences’, an organization for the study of UFOs and extraterrestrial life. The videos in the matter were shot by Marine Pilots and were made public by Tom's organisation.
