US University Offers Post-Election 'Self-Care' With Legos And Cookies To 'Traumatized' Students
Georgetown University is offering students time to play with Legos, as part of its post-election self-care session. They'll also be offered coloring books.

day after election, while most people in America will start ir morning with breakfast and go about ir routines regardless of outcome, students at Georgetown University's McCourt School of Public Policy have a different option: spending time with Legos. It is worth mentioning that students are in ir 20s.
According to a report from Free Press, an an email, Jaclyn Clevenger, school’s director of student engment, anunced a "Self-Care Suite" for McCourt students. Ackwledging stress of times, she invited students to Commons on 3rd floor for a day of relaxation, mindfulness activities, and snacks.

Here’s lineup:
- 10:00-11:00 a.m.: Tea, Cocoa, and Self-Care
- 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.: Legos Station
- 12:00-1:00 p.m.: Healthy Treats and Healthy Habits
- 1:00-2:00 p.m.: Coloring and Mindfulness
- 2:00-3:00 p.m.: Milk and Cookies
- 4:00-5:00 p.m.: Legos and Coloring
- 5:00-6:00 p.m.: Snacks and Self-Guided Meditation
Georgetown isn't alone
According to Free Press, Clevenger did t respond to questions about why graduate students might need milk and cookies to recover from election-related stress or how such practices might influence future diplomats.
Georgetown is t alone in offering post-election support. Missouri State University’s counseling center has set up a “self-care phone zone” with calming jars, coloring ps, and sensory fidgets. Last week, New York Times also reported that Fieldston, a private school in New York City, made attendance optional day after election for students feeling emotionally distressed, canceled homework, and provided psychologists for “Election Day Support.”
