Alabama woman with 2 uteruses welcomes twins with unique birthdays

The 32-year-old woman from Alabama, who was born with two uteruses and became pregnant in both, announced that she gave birth to twin girls on different days.

32-year-old woman from Alabama, who was born with two uteruses and became pregnant in both, announced that she gave birth to twin girls on different days, on Friday.

“Our miracle babies were born!” Kelsey Hatcher, who is documenting her story on her Instagram account “doubleuhatchlings”, wrote in a post Alabama woman ded that girls "decided y were rare enough statistically that y should just go ahe and have ir own birthdays too."

Woman gives birth to 2 babies from 2 uteruses

Roxi Layla, first one, was born on Tuesday at 7:49 pm (local time), and she was joined by Rebel Laken on Wednesday at 6:09 am. Although doctors h estimated a Christmas due date, sisters arrived just in time to be at home for holidays with ir siblings.

mor and daughters have been discharged from hospital, with Hatcher promising to share details about delivery in future. Hatcher knew from age of 17 that she h "uterus didelphys," a rare congenital condition thought to affect about 0.3 per cent of people born female.

During a routine eight-week ultrasound visit in May, massage rapist and n mor of three learned not only that she was having twins this time but that a fetus was present in each of her uteruses. Pregnancies in both uteruses are very rare, according to Shweta Patel, obstetrician-gynaecologist who cared for Hatcher at University of Alabama at Birmingham’s Women & Infants Centre.
