Traffic on busy Ambassor Bridge from Cana to US resumed after two hours of halt following "possible explosive" threats in area. Windsor Police has notified resumption of north-bound vehicles with access off of Wyandotte Street West only. "#AmbassorBridge from Cana to U.S. is now open with access off of Wyandotte Street West only," y wrote on Twitter. In latest updates, Windsor Police arrested driver of involved vehicle. He will be detained in custody of CBSA until furr investigation is completed. "No or persons are believed to be involved in this incident," WPS said.

Ambassor Bridge that connects Windsor, Ontario, and Detroit was completed evacuated and shut down closed after police located possible explosives in area, Associated Press reported. "WPS on scene near Ambassor Bridge for possible explosives located in area. area has been evacuated & bridge is shut down for incoming US to traffic only. Please avoid area. Our Explosive Disposal Unit is attending," Windsor Police (WPS) wrote on Twitter about 15 hours ago.

According to AP, police were updated about threats by Cana Border Service Agency. Following tip-off, Explosive Disposal Unit and WPS located vehicles loed with possible explosives during ir secondary inspection in bridge complex. "CBSA alerted WPS after possible explosives were located inside a vehicle in secondary inspection area," WPS ded.

However, authorities later clarified that "no threat was associated to this & this is believed to be an isolated incident. safety & security of staff & public is paramount; as such traffic has been re-routed." Until threats were mitigated, north and south- bound vehicles were rerouted to Windsor-Detroit Tunnel and Blue Water Bridge, WPS wrote on Twitter.

According to ambassorbridge.com, it is largest suspension bridge in world with a total length of 7,500 feet. More than 40,000 commuters, tourists, and truck drivers carrying $323 million worth of goods cross Windsor-Detroit border each day.
