In a letter posted on USATF's official Twitter handle on Saturday, CEO Max Siegel has urged US Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC) to call on International Olympic Committee (IOC) to postpone summer Olympic.

"Our goal remains to achieve athletic excellence during Olympic Games, but t at expense of safety and well-being of our athletes. alternative of moving forward in light of current global situation would t be in best interest of our athletes (as difficult as that decision might be)," Siegel said.

Earlier this week, IOC dismissed needs for any drastic decisions on postponing event at this st. Tokyo also has maintained that so far, games are proceeding as scheduled. Tokyo Olympic Games are slated to be held from July 24 to August 9.
