Apple helped US government build 'secret' iPod with recording device: Former employee

In a shocking revelation, an ex-Apple employee has said that the tech company  helped the US government in building a ‘top secret’ iPod with hidden sensors.

In a shocking revelation, an ex-Apple employee has said that tech company helped US government in building a ‘top secret’ iPod with hidden sensors inside. David Shayer, who worked as a software engineer for company revealed that only four of employees knew about product that was developed for US Department of Energy.

Revealing furr details in Apple newsletter Tidbits, Shayer said that in 2005, two men from American Department of energy approached company. He furr said that y wanted firm to build an iPod which secretly recorded data using hidden extra hardware. However, challenge for m was to make it look and function like a rmal iPod, despite having secret recording device inside.

Department of Energy is responsible for nuclear power among or functions. According to Shayer, two engineers wanted to make a device that secretly recorded radiation without detection. Though Shayer never found what were y exactly building but he expected it to be something like like “stealth Geiger counter” to measure radiation without being ticed, Shayer reckoned.

He said that two engineers from defence contractor Bechtel worked at Apple’s headquarters for months adding some hardware into device that couldn’t be detected easily. Elaborating furr, he said that it wasn’t a rmal contract, instead of a favour that apple was doing under table for US Department of Energy.

'Crazy story' 

story has been backed by many or employees including Tony Fadell, former vice-president of iPod division, who took to social media to wrote that story was "absolutely spot on" and "real without a doubt". While ar former employee Matt Rogers wrote, "I remember those 2 guys and always wondered what y were up to! Super unusual to have folks we didn't kw in office at time. Crazy story!"
