Senate, controlled by Republicans, will w hold a trial under supervision of Chief Justice of Supreme Court. In trial, Senate will serve as jury and at least two-thirds of Senate have to vote in favour of removal. In history of United States, only two presidents, Andrew Johnson in 1868 and Bill Clinton in 1998, have been impeached so far but both got acquitted in Senate. In 1974, n President Richard Nixon h faced impeachment proceedings but resigned from office before any voting could take place.
