'Barbie' or 'Oppenheimer'? Here's what US Secy Antony Blinken replied

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has verified his interest in watching both ‘Barbie’ and ‘Oppenheimer’. The US official shared his opinion on the movies after he was asked about his choice between the two movies. The statement by the US Secy was made during the Press briefing on Tuesday, August 15 (local time).  
 
‘Barbie’ is a fantasy comedy-drama film starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling. ‘Oppenheimer’, on the other hand, is a biopic tracing the journey of physicist Robert J Oppenheimer, known as the ‘Father of the Atomic Bomb’. Both movies hit the cinema on the same day, July 21. This much-anticipated clash also led to the popular social media trend 'Barbenheimer'.

On a lighter note, one of the reporters asked Blinken "Which movie — among Barbie and Oppenheimer — will he watch, if he gets three and a half hours?" To this Antony Blinken replied, "First, I also look forward to seeing Barbie, but no set plans to do that. – Again, have to find the time. Maybe we can do a double feature in the briefing room – for those who have seen neither movie." 

Notably, the answer by the US Secy had drawn a huge laughter in the briefing room. This was further followed by another question, not exactly a related note. The reporter asked, " Have you seen Oppenheimer yet? And if you have, what do you think?” To which Blinken responded that he is glad that these two questions are very distinct. Further, he added, " To take your second question first, no, I have not yet seen Oppenheimer; I’m trying to find the, what, three-and-a-half hours necessary”. 

Greta Gerwig's 'Barbie' film has now made over $1 billion USD at the global box office, making Gerwig the first solo female filmmaker to have a billion-dollar picture. Issa Rae, Dua Lipa, Simu Liu, Michael Cera, Helen Mirren, John Cena, and Will Ferrell also star. 

'Oppenheimer' is a more dramatic film that follows the creation of the atomic bomb and the politics around it. The film, directed by Christopher Nolan, has gained critical praise and grossed over 600 million USD. The film has an ensemble cast that includes Cillian Murphy, Emily Blunt, Robert Downey Jr., Florence Pugh, and Matt Damon, among others.
