Biden slams Trump for rolling back protection to LGBTQ+ patients, going back on progress
The Democratic candidate for US 2020 Elections Joe Biden on Sunday slammed US President Donald Trump over revoking transgender health protection.

Democratic candidate for United States 2020 Elections Joe Biden on Sunday slammed US President Donald Trump over revoking Obama-era policy that protected LGBTQ patients from discrimination. Taking to Twitter, Biden stated that America needs a president who will fight for more LGBTQ and equality rights, t someone who will roll back on progress that has alrey been done.

Trump ministration on Friday anunced rollback of Obama-era regulation protecting trans persons from discrimination while receiving health care. According to reports, policy that was rolled does t only discriminate but also required robust langu translation services. As per new version of policy, US Health Department will “return to government’s interpretation of sex discrimination, which, as per plain meaning of word ‘sex’ is determined as male or female in biology”.
Meanwhile, Trump ministration h also stated that that federal civil rights law does t protect trans people from discrimination at work. This anuncement came on fourth anniversary of Pulse nightclub shooting-- where a shooter h killed 49 people at a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida.

Under Obama-era policy, y h prevented hospitals and healthcare providers from discriminating against trans patients and women seeking abortions. A hospital was able to perform -transition procedures such as hysterectomies if facility provided that kind of treatment for or medical conditions. It h upheld anti-discrimination section of Affordable Care Act that prohibits sex discrimination in healthcare but does t use term “ identity”.

Trump's move opposed
Trump ministration has been facing backlash for rolling back protection of LGBTQ+. While Human Rights Campaign has said that it would file a lawsuit, ACLU has said it would impeach Trump rule. According to He of Health Department Roger Severi, trans-Americans will continue to be protected by or statutes that prohibit discrimination in healthcare based on race, colour, national origin, , disability, and or factors.
However, according to LGBTQ groups, protection is needed for those who are seeking confirmation treatment, and for trans people who need treatment for common illness such as diabetes or heart problems.
