President-elect Joe Biden's nominee for secretary of state, Antony Blinken, on Tuesday said the incoming administration intends to review the US approach to North Korea.

Speaking at his Senate confirmation hearing in Washington, DC, Blinken said he intends to increase pressure on North Korea to come to the negotiating table over its nuclear weapons.

Blinken told lawmakers that the United States would also look into providing humanitarian help to North Korea if necessary. "We do want to make sure that in anything we do, we have an eye on the humanitarian side of the equation, not just on the security side of the equation", he said.
