Canian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said on Monday that Russia will t be included in upcoming meeting of Group of seven nations (G-7), days after US President Donald Trump revealed that he has plans to invite Russia. Trudeau ted Russia was excluded from group after it annexed Crimean Peninsula from Ukraine in 2014, ding that Vlimir Putin-led country continuous to disrespect international rules.
“Its continued disrespect and flaunting of international rules and rms is why it remains outside of G7 and why it will continue to remain out,” Trudeau said.
Trump, on or hand, t only stated his wish to invite Russia but also declared that he will postpone meet if his demand to expand membership of G-7 is t discussed by existing member nations. Russia - a former member - was suspended from group in 2014 over Moscow's seizure of Crimea.

Trump wants expansion of G-7, bats for India's membership
Terming G-7 as 'outdated', Donald Trump on Sunday h postponed said meeting and called for an expansion of group's membership. Trump demanded inclusion of India as well as Russia. Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended 2019 G7 Summit in France despite t being a member after a personal invitation by French President Emmanuel Macron.

Trump has accused current members of t properly representing ongoing Coronavirus crisis and or issues taking place in world. Apart from India and Russia, US president also singled out Australia, South Korea as possible ditions to G7 group.

What is G7 Summit?
Often being looked at as grouping of 'rich countries,' G7 Summit includes seven countries that are considered most developed & industrialised ecomies of world, for m to discuss ecomic policies. grouping that was created in 1975 first included six countries, with Cana joining a year later. grouping also included Russia, but it was suspended in 2014. current G7 members are Cana, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, United Kingdom and United States. US currently holds annual presidency of G7 countries.

'In-person G7 summit'
Issuing a statement on summit, White House h said that President Donald Trump believes that re is ' greater example' of reopening amid COVID-19 pandemic than holding an in-person G7 summit in America near end of June. Trump has even suggested that it be held in person at Camp David. This 'change in mind' came even as in March US president cancelled physical meet of G7 and held very first virtual 'emergency meet.'

It would be a great sign to all - rmalization!" Trump h tweeted. However, German Chancellor Angela Merkel has alrey rejected Trump's invite.
