The city of San Francisco has declared a state of emergency over the deadly coronavirus outbreak. The US CDC has claimed that an outbreak is imminent.

Increase in level of preparedness
According to reports, Breed said that virus has been spreing rapidly to new parts of world and that steps were absolutely necessary in order to protect San Franciscans from harm. She ded that in light of rapidly changing situation surrounding COVID-19 outbreak, re needed to be an increase in level of preparedness.

As per reports, re have been reported cases of coronavirus in San Francisco yet, but global tally of those infected by virus has crossed 80,000. majority of of se cases are in mainland China.

Reports have indicated that mayor's declaration of emergency followed anuncement by US Centre of Disease Control, which claimed that virus spreing in United States was t a question of 'if' but 'when'. According to Nancy Messier, director of CDC's National Centre for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases, it becomes harder and harder to contain virus as it continues to spre to more nations.
