Donald Trump accuses Iran of ‘orchestrating’ attack on US Embassy

US President Donald Trump lashed out at Iran for “orchestrating” attack on the American Embassy in Baghdad after some protestors managed to enter the compound.

US President Donald Trump lashed out at Iran for “orchestrating” attack on American Embassy in Baghd after some protestors mand to enter high-security compound on December 31. Referring to attack that killed an American contractor and injured many, Trump said that US retaliated to it and “always will”. Trump tified  Iraqi government to use its forces for providing security to US Embassy.

Earlier today, thousands of Iraqi Shiite militia supporters attacked US Embassy compound in Baghd while protesting against airstrikes that killed 25 pro-Iran fighters. According to media reports, some of protesters marched through high-security checkpoints in military fatigues to which Iraqi forces didn’t react.

mob broke into Embassy compound shouting “Death to America” and one of m hanged a poster on wall that re, “America is an aggressor”. US security forces stood at roof pointing guns at protestors while some marines fired tear gas and flash bangs to disperse aggressive crowd.

On December 28, a US defence contractor was killed and ors got injured after as many as 30 rockets were reportedly fired at Iraqi military compound near Kirkuk. In response, United States launched airstrikes against pro-Iran group killing 25 fighters. Iran's foreign ministry spokesperson Abbas Mousavi said that US carried out attacks to show its “firm support for terrorism and its neglect for independence and sovereignty of countries”.

Anger among pro-Iran groups

attack triggered anger across country, especially among pro-Iran voices, which forced el Abdel-Mahdi, currently a caretaker Prime Minister, to convey that he tried his best to stop airstrikes on targets within Iraq. Iraqi PM said that re was “insistence” from US officials to carry out attack. US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said strikes were carried out to send a strong mess and “precision defensive strikes” were conducted at five sites of Hezbollah Briges.
