Donald Trump affirms plan to withdraw US from Paris Agreement
The US President Donald Trump at the energy conference in Pittsburg publicly confirmed the plans to pull Washington out of the Paris Climate Agreement

United States President Donald Trump at energy conference in Pittsburg publicly affirmed plans to pull Washington out of Paris Climate Agreement on October 23. At conference, President Trump talked about his efforts to roll back regulations on energy industries and growing natural gas and crude oil output in US. He furr talked about his ministration's intention to pull country from 2015 international climate agreement as accord would have been shutting down American producers with excessive regulatory restrictions. US President also believes that deal was expensive for country, which is world's second-largest emitter of greenhouse gases after China.
“ Paris accord would have been shutting down American producers with excessive regulatory restrictions like you would t believe, while allowing foreign producers to pollute with impunity. What we won’t do is punish American people while enriching foreign polluters,” he said, ding: “I’m proud to say it, it’s called America First.”

Many opponents believe that leaving agreement would harm US global leership on transition to a cleaner ecomy with techlogies to boost wind and solar power. Neera Tanden, president and chief executive of Center for American Progress, reportedly claimed that inste of projecting strenght, action of pulling out of Paris agreement might weaken America on world st and cede leership on climate change and or challenges to countries like Russia and China.

Withdrawal takes one year
However, withdrawal takes one year, which would mean that United States would leave agreement one day after presidential elections in 2020 as US President can submit letter to United Nations in vember to start clock to withdraw formally from climate agreement.

Under former US President Barack Obama, US h pledged that Paris accord would cut greenhouse emissions by as much as 28 per cent from 2005 levels by 2025 to help slow global warming. A former state Department official during Obama ministration h also brokered Paris agreement and furr claimed that formal withdrawal would make it difficult for US diplomats to participate in or discussions like G7.
