US President Donald Trump, in a Cabinet meeting on October 21, asked Republicans to "get tougher” and called the impeachment probe a “phoney investigation”. Trump also expressed his displeasure as he was forced to backtrack from his earlier plan to host the G-7 Summit at his golf resort in Miami next year.
Democrats 'stick together'
Trump didn’t give any specific answer on what he means about getting “tougher and fight” but hinted at the unity of Democrats which was apparently not the case with Republicans.

“Well, I think the Democrats fight dirty. I think the Democrats are lousy politicians with lousy policy”, said Trump. “But two things they have: They’re vicious and they stick together. They don’t have Mitt Romney in their midst”, he added, hitting out at Republican Senator who has been critical of Trump.

Trump decries impeachment probe
Trump is in the midst of an impeachment probe for pressurizing Ukraine to find dirt on his Democratic rival, Joe Biden. “So this is a phoney investigation. I watched a couple of people on television today talking about it. They were talking about what a phoney deal it is, what a phoney investigation it is,” Trump lamented.

Defending earlier decision to host G7 summit at his golf resort
In order to defend his earlier decision to host the summit at Doral resort, Trump said, “You know, I don’t know if you know it: George Washington — he ran his business simultaneously while he was President.” Trump had met with severe criticism from the Opposition and the decision was also frowned upon by many within the party after which he had to drop the plan.
Trump has constantly accused Joe Biden and his family of self-dealing, and the choice of venue came under similar scrutiny. Even if there was no profiteering from the Summit, the selection of venue was seen as a huge marketing and branding opportunity.
