The Trump Campaign rushed to cash in former US President Donald Trump’s arrest by subsequently launching T-shirts and other merchandise featuring his viral mugshot. Interestingly, the t-shirt has been listed on the Trump Campaign's official website for USD 34, with the words “NEVER SURRENDER!” written below the former US President’s booking image.

The website is currently selling T-shirts, mugs, stickers, among several other items all with Trump’s mugshot captioned “NEVER SURRENDER!” in all caps, despite the fact that the Republican leader surrendered himself at the Georgia jail in connection to the election racketeering case before he was released on USD 200,000 bond.

The mugshot was released by Georgia authorities on Thursday (August 24), showing a scowling Trump. The picture was taken minutes after the ex-US President was booked on more than a dozen felony counts at an Atlanta jail.

Donald Trump: 1st ex-US President to receive mug shot

Donald Trump, who is running for US President in the 2024 election, made history on Thursday by becoming the first former President of the United States to face criminal charges, not just once but four times. However, it was for the first time that the controversial leader posed for a booking photo.

The camera shutter that blinked inside a jail in downtown Atlanta captured an image that will remain in history. In the photo, Trump was seen looking into the camera with an intense glare. “He was wearing a blue suit, white shirt and red tie, his shoulders squared, his head tilted slightly toward the camera. The sheriff’s logo has been digitally added above his right shoulder.”

After 2-long years of hiatus, Trump finally arrived on the microblogging platform X (formerly Twitter) on August 25 by posting his super viral mug-shot himself on his official account. In his first post on X since his account was suspended following the US Capitol chaos on January 6, 2021, Trump also shared the link to his website.

“Today, at the notoriously violent jail in Fulton County, Georgia, I was ARRESTED despite having committed NO CRIME,” Trump wrote in a message that appears on the landing page of the site.

“...But today, I walked into the lion’s den with one simple message on behalf of our entire movement: I WILL NEVER SURRENDER OUR MISSION TO SAVE AMERICA.”
