Donald Trump greets Leo Varadkar with Namaste amid coronavirus dread

US President Donald Trump and Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar greeted each other with the traditional Indian way of 'Namaste' at the White House on March 12.

United States President Donald Trump and Irish Prime Minister Leo Varkar greeted each or with tritional Indian way of 'Namaste' at White House on March 12. Indian-origin leer was visiting Washington where y both talked about coronavirus outbreak and while talking to reporters, Trump said that y both h greeted each or by joining ir palms in namaste pose but ded that it was a “weird feeling”. 

"We did t shake hands today. We looked at each or and said what we are going to do. You kw, sort of a weird feeling," Trump told reporters in Oval Office

“I just got back from India. And I did t shake any hands re. And it's very easy because y go like this” Trump ded while showing namaste.

'Ahe of curve'

Amid increasing dre of fatal coronavirus, people have been avoiding touch to contain its spre. Trump also ted on March 13 that both Japan and India “were ahe of curve”. Agreeing with Trump, Varkar also told reporters that namaste “almost feels impersonal” but leers can t afford to think like that in next few weeks as world battles coronavirus outbreak.  World Health Organisation (WHO) has declared coronavirus as a global pandemic after virus spre to more than 100 countries, resulting in deaths of more than 4,900 people worldwide. WHO chief Tedros ham furr even urged all nations to get very serious over issue and take all necessary measures to contain virus from spreing at this rate. Tedros said, that word 'Pandemic' cant be used lightly or carelessly due to its strong contation.
