While deadly coronavirus outbreak has surrounded this year’s Tokyo Olympics 2020 with uncertainties, United States President Donald Trump has showcased his confidence in Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and called him a “great friend”. Trump even applauded Abe for deciding a “magnificent” job in deciding venue for Olympics and assured that he will make a “proper decision”. As most authorities have called for postponing Olympics, even US President had suggested that it should be delayed to next year while keeping in mind crisis caused by pandemic that has taken at least 14,500 lives worldwide.

Earlier, Trump had suggested an 'idea' that Tokyo Olympics 2020 should be postponed for a year. While expressing his opinions on arrangement of event, US President said that event, which is scheduled to begin on July 24, should be delayed because he would “like that better than having empty stadiums all over place”. However, according to reports, US President has also said that he does t plan on making recommendation to Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
US President said, “It is very possible for Olympics maybe, I just can t see having people re, in or words, t allowing people. Maybe and this is just my idea, maybe y postpone it for a year.”

Meanwhile, just recently, while world leaders are advising to practice social distancing to stem spread of deadly coronavirus, thousands of people defied fears of COVID-19 and assembled in queues for hours to see Tokyo Olympic flame in rrn Japan. According to international media reports, some had to stay in 500-metre line for several hours.
