US President Trump slammed fellow Republican Senato Mitt Romney for criticising his move to push foreign countries into launching probe against Joe Biden

US President Donald Trump has slammed fellow Republican Mitt Romney for criticising his move to push foreign countries into launching probe against Joe Biden, former vice-president and a leing Democratic candidate for White House. Trump took to Twitter to criticise Romney and said that people of Utah, from where Romney is Senator, have realized ir mistake for choosing ‘Pompous Senator’.

Romney calls it politically motivated
Mitt Romney, a Republican candidate in 2012 US Presidential elections, h openly criticised Trump for pushing a probe in middle of mination process. “It strains credulity to suggest that it is anything or than politically motivated,” Romney h said. By deviating from Republican line on Trump’s call to probe Biden, Romney said, “By all appearances, President’s brazen and unprecedented appeal to China and to Ukraine to investigate Joe Biden is wrong and appalling.”

Pompeo denies allegations
US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo denied allegations of abuse of power by US president and using taxpayer’s money to dam candidature of a rival candidate. Pompeo said that impeachment enquiry was politically motivated and said that state department was focussed to enhance its relationship with new Ukranian government. “ State Department was very focused, at direction of president, on creating where we could ultimately deliver a good relationship with this government,” Pompeo said.

Impeachment process gains momentum
Meanwhile, House committees, who are probing charges against Trump, have been instructed t to lose momentum and move quickly with it. Trump is alrey facing charges of putting pressure on Ukranian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy to investigate Joe Biden and his call to China has w escalated matter. House Judiciary Committee, which oversees impeachment process, will receive all findings of House-wise investigation. Once House Judiciary Committee finds eugh evidence on Donald Trump, it will be referred to full house for voting. lower house, which is currently controlled by Democrats, will vote on one more Article of impeachment. If majority of members vote in favour of impeachment, Trump will be impeached and proceedings will move to Senate.
