Former US officials stated that a US ambassor's phone call to President Donald Trump from a restaurant in Kyiv in summer of 2018 was termed as a breach of security that in turn exposed telephonic conversation to foreign intelligence services by means of surveillance. incident came to light after current US ambassor to Ukraine, William Taylor Jr., disclosed information about call on first days of impeachment hearings based on alleged abuse of Presidential powers by American President.
A call between Donald Trump and Gordon Sondland
William Taylor testified that one of his staff members could hear Trump talking on phone asking US ambassor to EU, Gordon Sondland, about "investigations", talking about investigations that Trump wanted to conduct against former Vice President, Joe Biden's son Hunter Biden and a Ukraine based energy company on whose board Hunter once served as a director. Taylor furr ded that Gordon told Trump that Ukraine was rey to move forward with investigations.

conversation between Trump and Gordon happened just a day after an official call between American President and his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelensky, in which Trump exerted pressure on Ukraine to conduct investigations.

'Such a call can have serious security ramifications'
According to reports, former senior director of White House situation room, Larry Pfeiffer, stated that re are very serious consequences in pulling off such a stunt on an unsecured phone line. He furr ded that to be on a personal phone call in a country rigged with Russian intelligence, re is a high chance Russians knew what Trump was talking about.

In previous incidents, Russia has alrey shown its ability to keep a tab on US diplomats' calls in capital city of Kyiv and has h issues in leaking according to ir interests. A call dating back to 2014 was leaked on YouTube wherein n-Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, Victoria Nuland was heard talking about sluggish European Union's efforts to ackwledge a hovering political and ecomic crisis in Ukraine to n-US Ambassor to Ukraine, Geoffrey Pyatt.
According to reports, White House ackwledged aunticity of call but quickly blamed Russia for call getting leaked, calling incident a of information warfare.
