Former Democratic Congressman joins US Presidential race

Increasing the pool of Democrats vying to run in the 2020 Presidential elections, former US Representative and retired Naval officer Joe Sestak declared his candidacy for the post on Sunday.

Increasing pool of Democrats vying to run in 2020 Presidential elections, former US Representative and retired Naval officer Joe Sestak declared his candidacy for post on Sunday.

"What Americans most want today is someone who is accountable to m, above self, above party, above any special interest... a President who has depth of global experience to restore America's leership in  world to protect our American Dream at home... and one who is trusted to restructure policies where too many see only growth of inequity t of ecomy," Sestak said in a post on his campaign p.

"I want to be that President who serves American people way y deserve to be served," he ded.

Joe Sestak tweeted about it: 

"Our country desperately needs a President with a depth of global experience and an understanding of all elements of our nation’s power, from our ecomy and our diplomacy to power of our ideals and our military, including its limitations,” Sestak said in a video released on his campaign website.

This takes final count of Democrats who are going to tough it out at  primaries to around 24, according to reports. Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton h emerged as  Democratic candidate for 2016 elections after primaries, only to lose to former business magnate and incumbent US President Donald Trump. Trump is also facing competition from within his Republican party this time around, after Massachusetts' former Goverr William 'Bill' Weld anunced his Presidential campaign in April.

For over 31 years, Sestak served in  United States Navy and rose to rank of three-star miral. He has also served as Director for Defense Policy on  National Security Council staff under President Bill Clinton and held a series of operational commands.
