US extends deep condolence message on martyrdom of Indian Jawans in India-China clash

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo condoled to people of India for the lives lost in the India-China confrontation in the Galwan valley in eastern Ladakh

In aftermath of attack orchestrated by Chinese Army at Galwan valley in eastern Lakh leing to martyrdom of 20 Indian soldiers, US Secretary of State Michael Pompeo on Friday extended condolences to people of India for lives lost in India-China confrontation.

US,  worst affected country with Coronavirus that originated from China, has maintained a hard stand against communist country and its response in handling of virus crisis which has become a global catastrophe. US is also mulling on decoupling US ecomy from China, though personal politics and real intentions of Donald Trump are up for debate.

Galwan standoff

violent standoff has led to martyrdom of 20 Indian soldiers including a colonel rank officer named Santosh Babu. Moreover, army sources said on Thursday that more Indian army men were injured in violent faceoff and have been recovering at different hospitals but are stable and out of danger, ding that y will resume service in a week to fifteen days.

" one critical as of w, all are stable. 18 soldiers are at our hospital in Leh, y will be out on duty in about 15 days. 58 soldiers are at or hospitals y should be back on duty within a week. Status as of today afteron," said Indian Army sources as reported by ANI.

Even as India lost 20 of its brave soldiers in violent confrontation, Indian Army inflicted heavy casualties on Chinese People's Liberation Army. It is also reported that over 40 casualties were inflicted on Chinese side, with US intelligence claiming 35 Chinese killed at hands of Indian soldiers. Even as Indian Army has revealed number of casualties, China has refrained to disclose number of its side calling it a 'goodwill gesture'. China said it is t releasing number of casualties because it does t want people in two countries to get furr impacted; disclosure of numbers would le to a comparison of casualties that could incite nationalistic sentiments on both sides, elevating tension. However, it seems to be more of a coverup of heavy casualties inflicted on Chinese than a mere goodwill gesture as China is always kwn to intimidate its opponents than extending goodwill gestures.

Besides, after violent faceoff, anti-China r and 'boycott Chinese good' movement has gared momentum across country with t just Indian citizens but tre confederations pledging to ban dealing in Chinese products. Moreover, Central government's arm Indian railways has cancelled Rs 470 crore contract with Chinese firms in wake of faceoff.
