Google CEO Sundar Pichai has announced the company's new financial commitment of over $800 million to support SMBs, health organisations and workers amid crisis

Google CEO Sundar Pichai has anunced company's new financial commitment of over $800 million to support SMBs, health organisations and governments, and health workers in wake of coronavirus pandemic.

Pichai, in his blog, also mentioned tech giant's contribution of $250 million in ditional vertisement grants to World Health Organisation and more than 100 government ncies worldwide to combat virus.

About $20 million will be provided in grants to community financial institutions and NGOs, while $340 million in Google s credits will be available to all SMBs with active accounts over past year. A $200 million investment fund has been anunced with aim to support NGOs and financial institutions around world to help provide small businesses with access to capital.

tech giant is also providing $20 million in Google Cloud credits for acemic institutions and researchers working to study pandemic. Besides grants, Google is also working with Magid Glove & Safety to ramp up production of 2-3 million face masks in coming weeks.
