Greta Thunberg meets Obama and appeared on 'The Daily Show' in US
Greta Thunberg met with the former President of the United States, Barack Obama after making an appearance on 'The Daily Show' to talk about climate change.

Greta Thunberg, the teen activist protesting for environmental conditions has a hectic schedule over her trip to the United States. The global climate protester made her appearance on “The Daily Show” on September 12. She talked about what is the one thing that can people change in order to mitigate climate change with the host, Trevor Noah. Later, Thunberg met with the former President of the United States, Barack Obama on September 17. She learned how to fist-bump with him and the former US President called her the “planet's greatest advocates”.

Thunberg meets Obama
Barack Obama appreciated Thunberg's effort to fight climate change at the age of "just 16", stating that she has recognised that her generation will have to bear the brunt of the drastic climate change. The former US president also said that Greta Thunberg is not afraid to initiate real work in order to push for change and he also believed that her vision is similar to what is being practiced by the Obama Foundation. He further said that future is shaped by leaders like Greta Thunberg. The 16-year old replied by saying that it was "great talking" to Obama.

Greta Thunberg came to the United State in late August after her 14-day voyage across the Atlantic on a zero-emissions sailboat, as the teenager has refused to take planes. She met with school strikers and United Nations officials in New York. In Washington, Thunberg has protested outside the White House and also received an award from Amnesty International. She is also scheduled to give an address to members of the Congress. On September 20, Thunberg will lead a rally in New York, before the United Nations summit on climate action. In solidarity with her, hundreds of thousands with her among nearly 150 countries have taken an initiative to walk out of the school with her.
