"To assist efforts to contain and mitigate rapidly evolving COVID-19 pandemic, basic science research and innovation will be vital to dressing this global crisis. Given urgency of situation, it is particularly important that scientists and public can access research outcomes as soon as possible,” science officials from se countries said in an open letter to Members of Scholarly Publishing Community.
A copy of joint open letter was issued by Director of White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) and Member of President Donald Trump’s Coronavirus Task Force, Dr Kelvin Droegemeier on behalf of government science leers including science ministers and chief science visors from Australia, Brazil, Cana, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, South Korea, New Zealand, Singapore, and United Kingdom.

"We, as national leers on science policy, applaud efforts of researchers to understand and prevent infection and spre of COVID-19. We also greatly appreciate funders and publishers who play important role of supporting, reviewing, and communicating research outcomes and making publications and data available to global community for scientific research and public awareness,” y wrote in call-to-action.

This will allow researchers to apply artificial intelligence to answer critical questions and identify trends and relevant information in ir efforts to characterize this novel virus and dress global health crisis, y said.
