George Floyd Death: Indiaspora condemns racism, says will strive for just America
An Indian-American organisation, Indiaspora, has resolved to work together with the African-American and other minority communities for a more just America.

An Indian-American organisation has resolved to work toger with African-American and or mirity communities for a more just America.
This comes after 46-year-old George Floyd, an African-American, died in Minneapolis on May 25 when a white police officer pinned him to ground and knelt on his neck while he gasped for breath.

"At Indiaspora, we stand strongly and squarely with African-American community, as we strive toger for a more just America. ir struggle is ours too. Indeed, aided by allies from different communities, it needs to be our national purpose," Indiaspora said in a statement.
Indian-American diaspora, it said, is mindful of fact that h it t been for civil rights movement and Immigration and Naturalisation Act of 1965, many of its members would t be in US today.

"But letter of law does t inevitably or automatically translate into experience of people. We too are t immune from racial persecution, as demonstrated by well chronicled events that have occurred in distant and recent past," Indiaspora said.
"So we have more work to do. More to do for Floyd's 6-year old daughter, Gianna," it said.

"refore we resolve to work toger, hand in hand, with African-American and or mirity communities, until we can all be assured of successfully encashing our collective promissory te, set forth in America's constitutional declaration that we are all created equal, in bank of justice. Let us end systemic racism," Indiaspora said.
