Joe Biden holds virtual climate event on Earth Day

Democratic presidential nominee, Joe Biden held a Earth Day town hall, virtually Wednesday from Wilmington, Delaware.

Democratic presidential minee, Joe Biden held a Earth Day town hall, virtually Wednesday from Wilmington, Delaware.

Biden's guest for event was climate activist and former Vice President Al Gore, who hours earlier h endorsed Biden as Democratic presidential minee.

Al Gore who also joined virtually from Nashville, Tennessee used climate event to reiterate his stand for Biden as president.

"Your election is absolutely crucial, Joe. And I want to do everything I can to convince everybody that cares about climate crisis, particularly those people that this is this is a brainer. This is a real simple choice. And if anybody has any doubt about that, come talk to me right w," he said.

Gore said Biden has asked him to help "strengn" his climate policies.

Both leers were critical of Trump's policies on climate change.

"Donald Trump is face of climate denial globally. He is lifting constraints on polluters, putting more pollution into atmosphere, making all se changes to all of protections that we do w have," Al Gore said.

"Beating Trump won't end climate change, but it's a critical first step," Biden said.

Biden last year unveiled a plan that would spend $5 trillion over 10 years, with $1.7 trillion coming from government.

But his timelines for reducing carbon emissions fall short of what some climate activists demand.
