Joe Biden says decision on 2020 Tokyo Games 'has to be based on science'

Joe Biden appreciated the Japanese Prime Minister, stating that the leader was “working hard” to get the postponed Tokyo Olympics game started this year.

Decision about hosting 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, which were earlier postponed due to coronavirus pandemic, must be based on science, US President Joe Biden said at a live-streamed programme with Westwood One Sports Rio. As per new rules, Japan’s government urged that athletes for postponed Olympics will be encourd to leave country just a day or two after y’ve finished.

Stringent rules and guidelines

According to sources of AP, opening ceremony planned at vill on Tokyo Bay will have stringent rules and guidelines, which will include vaccination and rapid PCR negative tests. International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach met  Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga, and  John Coates, IOC member in charge of overseeing Tokyo preparations to draft guidelines for conducting safe games. Alleging that postponed Tokyo Olympics will be “all business with few frills,” Coats said that athletes would be discourd from sightseeing, ding that “staying longer in vill increases potential for problems.”
